Question about Canon SX40

My husband wants one for Christmas. I've been reading all the reviews, as well as the threads on this board. Seems like an excellent camera!

Just one quick question; how would you rate this camera, in terms of delay shot-to-shot. He shoots almost exclusively in Auto, if that helps. But our current P&S camera is taking too long between shots, so we were both hoping this would be a faster camera.

Love my SX40!!! But, it is still a P&S and still suffers from shutter lag. Not terrible, but it is there.

Your best bet, if I were in your shoes, is to take a memory card to the store that has one operating out on display(my Best Buy did not have a memory card in the display camera, and the camera has no internal memory), stick the memory card in it, and shoot!!! See if it is acceptable to you.

Looks like Canon's top of the line for point and shoots. I went over to Amazon to look at some of the reviews and so far they are all glowing. Has the latest processor the Digic 5.
