Hi All, I have a Canon Power Shot G10, I try and play with it here and there but don't have a whole lot of time, anyway was just wondering what settings you would recomend putting it on to take pictures of the new World of Color show at Disneyland. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. :goodvibes

This is just a guess but it appears some of the "World of Color" show uses similar technology as "Fantasmic" so I would start with similar settings. For the water video "screens" I used 1/60 or 1/30 at f/4 at ISO 1600. A monopod helps a lot at these shutter speeds with longer focal lengths.

Thank you, I know how to do the ISO speed, however where can I adjust the other settings like you have said, the 1/60 or 1/30 and the f/4. Sorry I can be a little slow. :goodvibes

I am working with a G11 but I believe the G10 is very similar. The dial on the top (right side) has settings for Tv and Av. Tv allows us to control the shutter speed using the wheel/buttons on the back, Av does the same for the aperture. Choose one of these and the camera will choose the other to get the nominal exposure.
Use the dial on the top (left side) to adjust the exposure.

Sure you're talking about the same camera? There is no D11 AFAIK from Canon. I think you're talking about another manufacturer's product but I could be wrong. :)

EDIT: My apologies. Last night, for some reason, I read "D10" and thought this was about the waterproof D10. I'm sorry. I'm the one that was in the wrong here. Please accept my apologies as it was an honest mistake. Thanks, -bob

Hi There, Thank you so much!!! I was able to figure it out a little, now with mine, the dial on the left has like 0, then it has + 1 or +2 one way, and then -1 or -2 the other way, so what would you set it at. Sorry to be a pain, I just know when the time comes I want to get really great photos, and I appreciate all your help. :goodvibes

I usually leave the dial at 0 for a nominal exposure but check the histogram for under/over exposure and adjust the dial to get the histogram away from the edges if it is all the way up against the edges. For a dark show like Fantasmic it may be better to set the exposure for semi-spot metering (not sure if the G10 has this or not).
