I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but I do not see it. would my husband be allowed to carry one of the lightweight canes that fold out to a chair? or a folding stool that folds to the size of an umbrella? in the parks. He has a tough time standing for long periods but does not need a wheelchair.

And as soon as I got done posting this I did find a thread about canes, so I will leave this and see if someone can tell me if the stool that folds to umbrella size is allowed?

We have used a seat-cane several times without a problem and have never been questioned about it.

However, I recall a couple of years ago that someone on the disboards said that security stopped them from bringing one in.

You may want to e-mail or call guest services to see what the current policy is on this.

Have a great trip! :wizard:

If for some reason they are not allowed ( I am hoping that others will post) , then is there any ways you get one of those walkers that has a seat built in? I know this is a little different than a cane, but it would be better than nothing.

You can find rollators ( the wheeled walkers with seats) for purchase in many places for prices from under $100 to over $600, depending on all the 'bells and whistles' that are on them. We have seen many people using them on our last 2 trips to WDW and you would not have a problem with either bringing one in or using it anywhere.

Some people have brought the canes with fold down seats in without any problem. The ones I have heard of a problem with were More camp stool or folding chair type. Calling to ask is not necessarily going to bring you a correct answer because the people taking the calls are in call centers, not necessarily even in Florida.

I don't think the canes with fold down seats are in the list of what not to bring, but I can't access that link right now.

If Cheshire Figment comes around, he can give a definitive answer since he works at WDW and has worked at the entry.

I have a cane with a seat and I have taken it to WDW several times with no problems.
