Question about cancelling some people on my reservation

Hoping someone can help me out with this. We are a large group of 17 heading down for a birthday celebration trip. Once our ADR window opened up I started booking for everyone (most of my family are not the planners I am and are not in the know) breaking up tables to get ADRs. Now it's looking like some people don't want to come to some of the meals we have booked. My question is if I have say 10 people booked for a breakfast and there will only be 6 people going, do I need to call the reservations line to adjust or can I do it in the app or online? I booked the majority under my account and don't want to be charged for people who don't show up.
thanks in advance!!!

I am dealing with a similar situation. We have a total of 19-22 people for our trip in February. I booked the all the dining reservations myself and had to split some of the reservations into two groups in order to get us all in at the same time. Now my cousin tells me her family won't be coming after all which was 4 of our group. The problem is that I had put some of the reservations in her name as well as mine since the restaurant couldn't accommodate all of us on one reservation. I was able to log in online and change two of our reservations from 19 to 15 by cancelling the existing reservation and booking a new one with a time that was close. But all the other reservations I am not having any luck finding open tables. I am so frustrated. I don't know if I can call and have the number of people changed or in some cases just have the name changed to someone else in our group. This is so annoying.

From my experience, you'll have to call the reservation line to update the reservation for fewer people...the app and website are able to make that type of adjustment.

We had a group of 10 on our last trip, and for most reservations at least a couple of people decided to do other things. We just told them when we checked in that we were X number instead of the number on the reservation and no issues.

I would call. I always call to modify. Online, you have to cancel then rebook which is terrifying and I do not recommend.

I also do not recommend waiting until you get to the podium because it is up to each CM whether or not to enforce the no show fee. Better to call the reservation line to be safe.

Thanks so much! We have a final "meeting" with everyone next week so I'll find out who is in and who is not and make my call after that.

The best thing about Disney is that the customer service/guest relations people are always so darn nice! It makes "problems" seem like no big deal when you talk to them! Best of luck!

if all the people are under one reservation number -- that should not be a problem if only one shows up. Its for people that have multiple people in multiple researvations-- gotta make sure that there is at least one person showing up from each number or you will be charged 10.00 for every one in that party-- (make sense??)
