Question about cancelling PS's and making PS's day before or that day?

Ok, we will be there in August. Do you have to cancel your PS if you are not going to make it? If you don't cancel do you get charged something?

I would probably try to cancel if we were not going to make a PS, but if I forgot, just wondering if there was some kind of penalty. I know when I booked my Fantasmic dinner pkg, the girl did say they would charge me $10 per person if we didn't show up.

OK, second question... has anyone made a PS for the same day or the next day? I have a basic itinerary planned, but if we decide to deviate from it, and therefore we decide to eat somewhere I don't have a PS, what are the chances of getting one at the last minute?

I always try and I think that's great that you will try to cancel to free it up for another but if you forget one that's not too big a deal.

The restaurants that will charge your CC are Fantasmic, CRT, and PSB.

I would like to know too if you can get things like Fantasmic package or Whispering Canyon (dinner) or 1900 Park Fair (breakfast) last minute?? I would think you couldn't for Fantasmic anyway?

Any opinions?

I'm a planner and have them planned but it would be nice to be spur of the moment with a couple anyway!

we did not book any ps's at all... and managed to get quite a few by calling the day before or morning of... (1900 park faire, garden grill, hollywood & vine, nine dragons, donalds breakfastasaurous and a few others)... i would guess it depends on the time of year and how busy they are as well as the number of people and time of day...

I would cancel if you knew you were definitely not going to make it. Just out of common courtesy. Maybe someone is trying to make PS's the same day as well. You can do this at guest services wherever you are, if you are out and about. I might be wrong, but can you do it at other restaurants as well? Can they tap into the system? Maybe someone here knows.

I have been able to get PS's the same day and for the next day. I've done it a few times. Be prepared to maybe eat at different times than you planned, if you really want to get in somewhere.

We usually plan most meals, but have some wiggle room in there as well. Hope you have a great trip! It's so close! :jealous:

Last year three of us went and we didn't book our Fantasmic Dinner Package until the day before. Only H & V was open and there were only a couple of times available. We grabbed the first one.
Never say never....people cancel all of the time, but there are no guarantees.

On previous trips, we never made any PS reservations, but then again, we never ate anywhere that required them. We did all counter service to save money.

This time we have all of our PS reservations made and are going to see how it works. We are taking on WDW via the restaurants:

On my November trip ,I made lots of PS's the day before to regular WDW restaurants-no problem.

Last trip, we had 2 PSs at two different restaurants at the same time, because we didn't know timing wise where we would be. Not a big deal, we just stopped at the restaurant and let them know we wouldn't be there. Canceling is not a big deal unless its one that does take a deposit =)

We, often, decide at the last minute and try to get PS as well.
