My parents may have to cancel their upcoming trip that is 32 days away. Can they do that and still get money back? What about tickets? Can you get your money back for the tickets if you are canceling the trip? Anyone know? Thank you so much in advance!

Is it a package? If so, then I believe they just lose the $200 deposit. If it is room only with tickets purchased separately, then I have good news & bad news. The good news is they will get their hotel deposit back, the bad news is the tickets are non-refundable. More incentive to make it to WDW one of these days.

I'm pretty sure it was a package deal. I know they did the tickets at the same time. I'm hoping they don't cancel - we're supposed to be going as a group of 12! But it's good to know this info just in case, thanks!

They can always change the dates and as long as the new trip is the same price or more they won't lose any money.

If they cancel 6 days or more prior to arrival they will lose $100, 5 days or less they will lose $200.

I would suggest they change dates so that the price increases a little and then they won't lose anything.

Don't you lose $50.00 for changes after 45 days? I thought I read this somewhere.

Thanks for the responses. They found out they won't need to cancel, so our huge Magical Gathering is all set to go!

Glad to hear that your parents were able to join you after all. I wanted to add.. last year we did DCL and planned on staying 3 additional days at WDW. We had already purchased MNSSHP tickets and although they were "non refundable" I called Customer Service and explained the situation, we were having to cut our trip short due to my grandmother's declining health back home we didn't want to be away that long. They did in fact refund the "non refundable" tickets. I had to write a letter and return the tickets and they issued a refund.

I have found that Disney is pretty understanding when unexpected things arise.

Have fun though!
