Question About Cable Hookup

We'll be tent camping at the Fort in two weeks. We have a LCD TV with a TV tuner. We'd like to be able to hook up to the cable network. I read that you can borrow the equipment for a $125 deposit. However, will this kit include wires to hook up to the TV and is it the same cable as the resorts get? Also, since this is also the Wi-Fi modem, does it have the cables to connect or do I need to bring my own cables for the TV and internet?

You need to bring your own cable for the tv hookup. The cable channels are the same as other resorts. My understanding is that the cable modem is free, though you are required to make a refundable deposit. I was told it came with the ethernet cable, but hopefully someone who has stayed recently can give an actual account. I was given my information by cast member.

We got back from the fort last week and used these items. The box for the TV and the internet modem are separate and you would need to go to the Meadows Trading Post to request them. There is no longer a deposit required up front, they now fill out a form with your site info and if you do not turn the equipment in on your check out day they will charge you for the cost of the equipment. The bag the modem came in had all of the items needed to hook up the internet, even a cable splitter. The cable TV box had a very short cable wire to hook up to the TV so you may need a wire to go from the cable splitter to the cable box. I hope this info helps.

If all you want is cable, you can have access to that at the campsite by just bringing your own coaxial cable, the kit that you get at the desk or trading post is for the Intenet. Comes with the cable modem, Ethernet cord, etc.

Thanks for the responses so far. I guess I should have mentioned that we are tent camping so I figured we'd have to run a cable from the electric pole thingy to the TV inside the tent.

If all you are looking for is TV, then just pick up a 25-50 ft coax cable and run from the post to your tent. If you want for sure wi-fi, run the coax to your tent, get the modem kit from the trading post, then also bring your own router with Wi-Fi to plug into their modem kit. Regular Wi-Fi is sketchy.
