Question about BWV room location

We will be staying at the BWV's on my parents points. We had originally requested a smoking room. Disney Resorts have since become non-smoking.

For those people who had requested smoking would they place those people near the smoking areas?

Do you think that is something I could request?

Is anyone familiar with the smoking areas at BWV?

Yes I have seen the map, but that still doesn't answer my questions.

There have been many reports on the generic resorts board of people requesting and getting space near smoking areas. However, looking at the map, there are many smoking areas.

The issue with BWV isn't so much getting to a smoking area once you are outside, but getting in and out of the building easily. If you don't want to climb stairs, you want to request either first floor or near elevator. Since there are many more first floor rooms than near-elevator rooms, I'd suggest your biggest request be for first floor. As long as you are on the first floor, it just isn't going to be that hard to get to a smoking area.

Another suggestion would be to request the 2nd floor, which is on the same level as the lobby. That way you can exit out the front entrance to the smoking area near the Conference Center, which appears to be under cover.
