I want to get my boyfriend his First Visit and Birthday buttons the morning of our first day in the park, and from what I've heard you go get them at City Hall. But I've heard there are always lineups there, so I'm wondering how long we'd have to wait on a summer Monday morning right after rope drop?

The reason I ask is because we plan to be there right away at 8AM, and after we get them I'd like time to get on at least one or two rides before our 9AM breakfast ressies at Carnation Cafe. Want to know if this is realistic or not! (to be more specific I'd like to get on Indy and maaybe one other if time allows)

And as a follow up question, is there anywhere else off-site guests can get these pins, such as DTD? I heard guests in the DLR hotels can get them from the front desk but we're staying with a Good Neighbor hotel... but we are arriving the afternoon before so if it's possible to get them anywhere in DTD that would be perfect!

Thanks in advance! :wizard:

We just got back from dl yesterday, we got my dd a happy birthday pin, we were there riggt at 8 and did not have to wait in line at all.

we go in there everytime for a button ( always celebrating) :), never had to wait in line they usually have more then one person behind the counter...sometimes there will be 1 or 2 people in front but it goes quick. Not sure if I ever went in the morn. though.... cause the first day we get there is usually in the afternoon! Good luck have fun!

Yeah the wait is super short. Or you can just walk into a store and ask there :) they usually have them as well

If there is noone waiting at the info board(wait times posted here)in DL, there are usually cm's there that have lots of pins.

My oldest son got a Birthday button and all 4 of my kids got their 1st visit buttons with no wait whatsoever. We went to City Hall before rope drop and it was literally in and out. City Hall never seems to get busy throughout the day. Have a great trip!

When we were there last year there was a line at city hall, but also a CM walking up and down the line asking people if they were there for buttons.. and handing them to the folk that said yes.
This year at city hall there was no line so in and out.

Also got a couple from the grizzly river run store in CA.

And as a PP said , the other stores have them too.. :)

Have fun..

First thing in the AM you should be fine. Get to the gates at least 30 mins early. Go straight to City Hall, you should have minimal wait.

If I'm not staying on-property, I usually wait to get mine until around lunch time, just because it is so easy to get hung up on Main Street and then get behind. If there is any sort of a line at all, I'd just run along to your ride and come back. The whole point of being there at rope drop is to get right on rides, right? I've also picked them up on the way out after our first day, sort of as a "we did it!" souvenir.
I've never tried getting one at DTD, but that would be great!

You can also grab them at the booths before you go in. And they open around 6:30 because of the AP events.

A month ago, there was a CM at a podium right outside of City Hall. She had all the buttons we needed and we didn't have to wait. There wasn't much of a line that time, but I have been there with a 5 or so minute line before, so this was much simpler.
