Just some questions about bunk bed rooms (at AKL or WL)
1) Is the other bed in the room a queen or a full?
2)Are the rooms with bunk beds generally located in any specific area of the resorts? Specifically, are they generally located in the less desirable areas, like near elevators or restaurants or loud areas
3)Are the bunk beds against a wall?

Thanks!

I believe it states a queen with bunks. Scattered randomly and not against a wall as far as I have seen. There are pic on both AKL and WL threads and on disneyparks site too.

We did have one at the FW cabin and that one was against the wall.

The kids loved getting a bunk when we could.

We stayed in a bunk bed room at WL in April. We paid for a bunk bed courtyard view. Our room was in a great location, not loud at all. The other bed was a queen. The bunk beds are NOT against the wall.

AKL (savanna) and WL (woods view), our bunk beds were NOT against the wall.
Ft Wilderness Cabins, our bunk beds WERE against the wall, but the bedroom is so small they had to be.

We did a bunk bed room at WL not long ago. As the previous poster said, not against the wall. In our case, we had 3 adult women on the room, I "called" the top bunk. Oh boy. Just an FYI, the ladder is not at an angle, it is straight up and the rungs on the ladder in our room, were super slippery and a little tricky. (maybe a kid would find it easier, lol). I was ok if I was barefoot, though.

The bunk bed rooms at WL are located all over the resort. Our daughter had a bunk bed room, courtyard view, near the lobby. It was a really nice location.

With the Treehouse Villas (SSR), the bunkbeds are in a separate bedroom, no additional bed in the room. All the THV have a set of bunks.

At WL last Oct the bunk was with a Queen. It was a little tight between the two but not bad. The bunks were not against the wall in my room, but it was a really small space between bunk and wall. I remember that we put the microwave on it's cart in between the wall and the bunk and it barely fit.

My room location was superb.

I have a question about bunk rooms at AKL too. We have booked a standard view room and at online check in I requested kudu trail view and close to elevator. Disney site says that standard can be queens or queen and bunks. Is there a way to request the bunks instead of the queens for our trip in advance? Its not a deal breaker or anything but we are taking two boys that would love the bunks.

Call resort reservations and have them add the bunk bed request to your reservation. There is no guarantee that you would get one, though. It would all depend on availability. But it is better to have the request on the reservation rather than waiting until check in to ask for one. :)
