Question About Bounceback With Free Dining

I've seen 2 different Bounceback offers being talked about. One is for a percentage off of the rack rate and the other is for free dining. I would like to know if the Free Dining one was what was offered during the times folks were at the resort during a Free Dining promotion? Or has it been random?

Looks like all I'm seeing recently is people booking Bounceback's for 40% off. (Which is awesome! I'm just thinking about squirrelling away the money for a Free Dining Bounceback next year if an offer is extended when we are there in September.)

This is how Disney obsessed I am....Free Dining for the general public hasn't even been offered and I am mentally budgeting NEXT YEAR'S Free Dining vacation!

the Free DDP Bounceback offer 3 times now, booking before we check out from the previous Bounceback trip (ie; booked last Sept for this Sept's Free DDP trip) Did this in 07, 08, & 09. Its a $200 deposit which is fully refundable if I change my mind, oh yeah, like THAT'S gonna happen !!!! I book a longer window that I'll probably use and then adjust when the airfares come out.

When we were there during August/September (free dining) 09 the bounceback was for free dining for 2010 August-September free dining. We passed betting on a public discount for free dining b/c there has always been one before. You think we would know better since we go every year during that time but we didn't have the offer in our room and didn't ask until the last day. After plunking down a $1K for our AP's I wasn't in the mood to spend anymore money.

When we were there in Feb bounceback was the % off offer. I dont remember the dates but it was a couple different times throughout the year.

Anyone know what the BB offer is now? I know its a longshot but we will be back in May and if thats what it takes to get FD for fall I can book our BB then with that.

Do you know if you could book 2 different Free DDP Bounceback vacations, like one in the spring AND one in the fall if the offer included all the dates? I do realize it would require 2 reservations, each with its own $200 deposit.

The Bounceback offers which I've received have always had inclusion dates which coincided with the current promo. What I mean is, I was there in Sept. 2009 (or any of the previous years) and the BB offer was for Sept of the next year. I could not book for May or Feb or any other timeframe. Last year's dates were for stays 8/15/10 thru 9/30/10.

We are going in May as well, PIRATEGIRL, so I was wondering that also! (It's like feast or famine around here!!! No trips since 2008, and now trips in May AND September of this year!) My impression has been that the Free Dining Bounceback has only been offered to guests staying at the resorts during a Free Dining period. That's why I figured my best shot for booking one for 2011 would be in September. We do not eat gluten or dairy AND there are five of us in the family, so Free Dining provides a significant savings for us. (Disney charges more for some foods for special dietary requirements as they cost more for Disney to purchase than "regular" foods." That is why having Free Dining could be beneficial to someone with dietary restrictions.)

Got it! Thanks. DH & I are taking DS in the spring of 2011 to celebrate his turning 16 and I was hoping I could book that as a Free Dining Bounceback since high amusement-park food prices are even higher when we need to order all meals gluten & dairy-free.

Of course, no guarantees this will be the same BB schedule, but based on the last few years, as soon as the Free Dining period starts in August (?) the BB will probably change to one to be able to book a Free Dining package a year ahead, for certain dates in August-Sept/Oct 2011 - and that FD BB will probably run through the middle of October, when it will expire, and another room discount BB (no FD) will start with certain dates to choose from that go into 2011.
