I think I know the answer, but I want to be sure.

If we borrow 50 points from next year and then a waitlist comes through that requires less points for our stay, we would have to keep those extra points and use them by the end of this use year, is that correct?

Yes, the borrowed points cannot be returned to their original Use Year and will expire - however, if the original reservation also used current points you could just use the borrowed points for the waitlist reservation and bank the current points for use the following year (based on normal banking deadlines).

If the original reservation used only borrowed points, any 'extra' points will need to be used before the end of the Use Year into which they were borrowed.

Thanks Doc! We would be using a small number of current use year points. For some reason, it didn't occur to me that we could bank those to next year. I was only thinking about the borrowed points.
