Question about bookings for July 2008?

Our home resort is Saratoga Springs and we are hoping to book time at both Animal Kingdom and Beach Club Villas for July 2009. My question is, would it be better to book the time at SS and then try to transfer the reservations at the 7 month window or just wait until the 7 month window?

Any advice would be appreciated. We are looking to book a one bedroom at both resorts.

Hi I am trying to do this as well. I just booked a studio at SSR for July 1st thought the 6th. The 7th month mark will be Dec 1st 2008 to try to switch to another resort. I am hoping for AKV Savanna studio for our 14th wedding anniversary. This is your best bet to do the same that way you have a reservation at your home resort as back up.

If you want to assure having a reservation, it is always best to reserve at home resort and then try to switch at 7 month window. For example, figment795 above mentioned reserving home resort for July 1 to July 6 with intent to attempt to switch at 7 month window. Since that time around July 4 is an extremely high demand time for DVC, it is possible that there will be nothing to switch to at 7 months out and if figment795 were to wait to reserve even home resort until 7 months out, there may be nothing to get anywhere even at home resort. Rest of July is easier to get at 7 month window but still advisable to reserve home resort during 11 month window.
