If I have 125 pts via direct purchase with OKW as the home and a much smaller Riviera home (and only) resort contract via resale purchase (example 50pts), how many points could be applied to a Riviera stay at the 11 month booking window if all are available?

How does it work?

also, how does the same vs different use year change this?

50.

It doesn't.

You can only use the points from a contract for that resort at 11 months. You will only be able to use your Riviera points to book there at 11 months. You can book additional nights, if available, at 7 months using your OKW points.

Take this with a grain of salt, as I am a new DVC member. But, as I understand it, only the points on your Riviera contract ( plus up to 24 “one time” points) could be used for the Riviera reservation. If you had banked/borrowed points on that contract they could be used as well. Your OKW points could not be used at the 11 month window. This is to preclude a bit of “gaming” of the system where a member might purchase a small number of points at a very desirable resort and then use a large number of points from a lower maintenance/lower cost resort and still have home resort priority. Those who spent the money for sufficient points at the more desirable home resort would be rightfully upset to know someone could use points from another resort and have the same home resort privilege to book at 11 months

One time use points can't be used in the 11 month window, only within 7 months.

I assume by use year you mean member number. If your UY and title are the same, the contracts will be under the same membership, and then can combine at 7 months.

If they have a different UY or title, they are like separate people making separate reservations.

Think of it this way. The points carry the home resort advantage and booking rules, not the owner,

So, it doesn’t matter what else you might own, each contract can be used at its home resort during home resort priority, and combined with other resorts at 7 months easily if under the same membership..which is same UY and same owners.

So, 50 resale RIV can be used only there and if you want more nights, you can use the direct points to add to what you booked at 7 months.

You can bank and borrow points so if you had 50 points you could bank 50 from the prior year and borrow 25 (50% of points) from the following year.

In total you could pull together 125 point for a single year with moving points around.

None of your other points qualify for the 11 month booking window and no resale points from any other resort qualify for RIV to book even at 7 months (unless you bought resale a while ago before the restrictions hit).

Same vs different UY doesn't change it. BUT, if you have Riviera points in two different UYs, you would need to transfer from one to the other to combine them. You would be limited to one transfer in or out a year (that is what I have been told even when I transferred my own points between two different UYs). You cannot borrow transferred points as well.
