Hello everyone!

Quick question in regards to booking time frames.

I know the policy is 11 months out for home resort, and 7 months out for all others, but does this rule apply to non-DVC resorts.

For example, my family was thinking of using our points to stay at the Polynesian this time. Does this 7 months rule still apply for that?

My DVC planner says you can make reservations "from 11 months to 2 days in advance" If you cancel 5 or less days from check-in date all reservation points will be forfeited. If you cancel 6 or more days in advance points will be returned to use year in which reservation falls.

Also, you are exchanging your home vacation points for 'reservation points' at a non-DVC resort. If you have to cancel, your points do not revert back to vacation points. You would need to make another ressie at a non-DVC resort.

One note about booking at the DIsney resorts: You can NOT book a Disney Resort (Poly, Yacht Club, etc) during the last 60 days of your use year, if you are in the last 60 days. i.e.. if you have a June UY, and it's April 1st, you can not book the Poly, CR, etc anytime in April or May. This time frame was once called the "breakage period" but I haven't heard that term in sometime. But any time before April 1st you can book during the last 60 days of a use year. I hope I explained this correctly.

Adding to Bill's point -

You can stay at the non-DVC WDW resort during the last 60 days of our use year, but you have to call amd make the reservation to do so at least 61 days prior to the end of your use year.
