I want to book a room at CSR using AAA discount for Feb 21-24. I will be joining AAA to do this so I have never done it before.

Would someone please tell me if I will need to call AAA and book the room or call WDW and tell them that I want the AAA discount?:confused3

if u book with AAA it has to go through AAA.

If you want to book a vacation package, then you have to book it thru AAA Travel.

However, if you want to book Room-ONLY, you can call Disney and ask them to check if AAA Room discount is available.

You can book room only online through the CAA website or call CRO to book the room, they will give you the discount when you ask for it. I'm not sure about calling CAA directly, the only time I tried it they were most unhelpful (not to mention lacking in knowledge). You might have great people working in the office close to you, though.

I think you do have to contact them about packages though.

If you are booking room only, you can request an AAA discounted room rate through any travel agency. This includes the ability to book an AAA room rate through Disney directly on your own. Discount is not automatic, but dependent upon availability (the number of rooms with reduced AAA rates is limited).

If you are booking a MYW package -- room plus MYW tickets, +/- the dining plan -- then this must be done through a AAA office. Only AAA travel agents can book the AAA priced packages.

Again, availability is limited, so it is best to book as early as possible. AAA rates for the following year are typically released c. August of the previous year (example: 2008 AAA rates were released starting late Summer of 2007).

What is CAA?

WE book room only, never had the need for a package, straight through CRO. They ask our AAA membership number and when we check in they need to see your membership card. We got 15% of at Wilderness Lodge for this coming January, no fuss no muss.

jmclester, it's easy! Once you have an AAA membership number, go to the AAA website, click on "Travel" and get the number to call to speak to an agent. They book it through Disney and you save 10%! :thumbsup2

i recently tried to rebook a trip for my cousin and was told there was no CAA/AAA packages available after Valentines day into begin of March. They had to change to beginning of Feb. Which wasn't too bad they saved another $300 on the ASMovies because begin of Feb is value season. So, if you plan on booking the AAA rate, you should check it soon.

That is so not true, it is only 10% in all categories, but that is still a little savings. I have seen alot of posts where the AAA TA's aren't very educated about Disney, so you have to do your homework. If you have a local office, They have the new book for 2008 and it explains eveything in detail and also has a chart with the savings amounts and the dates they are avail.

You guys are awesome!!:thumbsup2

Last night I booked a water view room at CSR thru the CRO and got a 10% AAA discount. 2/21-2/24. Saved enough on the AAA discount to pay for my annual dues and had enough left for a half tank of gas!! That'll get me to Savannah!:cool1:

Thanks for all of your help and suggestions!

I actually checked the rates, and the difference between the value season and the Peak season the last week of Feb was a big difference. they had no AAA package discounts left she applied a general code with dining and it came out to the same as using AAA rate. So by bumping the trip into value season they did save almost $300. These are Canadian rates :goodvibes
