Question about booking points for DCL

I know you can book DCL with points and cash. My question is we have enough points to pay for one person, so for the 2nd & 3rd person how do you figure out what the rate is? I already have a DCL ressie on courtesy hold can I just call MS and ask them to take over the ressie?

You have to call MS to find out the cash rate for the 2nd & 3rd persons. The rate is whatever DVC negotiated with the DCL and it may be more or less than the current cash rate. Usually, the earlier you book for cash, the better the rate. Late bookings often make the MS cash rate look good, but of course the later you book the less choice you have for cabins.

I don't think MS can just take over a DCL cash reservation - call & ask before you release the hold. It's possible that if you release the hold and then MS books you, you can request and still get the cabin you have on hold (I'm assuming you wanted a specific cabin).
