Question About Booking Multiple Rooms

We are in the early stages of planning a November 2025 trip and some of my extended family would like go with us. My family would need 3 hotel rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. We would like to be in the same building (and hopefully with 2 of the rooms connecting, if possible). I know nothing would be guaranteed to us and this would all depend on availability, but I'm trying to figure out how best to book the trips to link them together.

Would it be easier for 1 person to book all 3 trips? Or should we each book rooms separately then link our reservations? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer :)

You need to call to book multiple rooms, and Disney will link them together when you book so that you have a better chance of the rooms being together. Obviously Disney does not guarantee that, but we've always had the rooms side by side (or maybe once not, but very close anyway).

It would probably be easiest for one person to book, but if you each book your own reservation you can still call and have them linked. Just make sure you have the reservation numbers and relevant information for each reservation. Happy planning!

Thanks so much! We're planning on staying at Port Orleans Riverside so as long as we're all in the same building, we'll be happy! Anything else better than that will be a great surprise :)

We've stayed at POR with extended family many times. We book our own rooms. Then we make a request to have rooms that are close to each other. The CM will mark the reservations as traveling together. We've done this several times. One time they gave us connecting rooms, one time they gave us rooms next to each other, and the other times we were in buildings that were next to each other.

:)

Each room needs a unique lead guest over the age of 18. You can book at the same time or separately and then ask Disney to add a "traveling with" note to the reservations. Make sure they add it on each reservation, and that you're booking the same categories. If one of you has a Royal room and the others don't, they won't be able to accommodate you no matter what.

For this purpose and others, make sure that the lead guests are all connected to one another via Friends and Family in the My Disney Experience app/website. I would go even further and make sure that each person is connected to each other person, and that every person over 14 has their own account.

Thanks so much for the info! I would rather us all book separately so everyone has their own confirmation number and can make payments on their own schedule. I'll make sure to mention to everybody to say we're traveling together and get all the confirmation #'s so we can give them to the cast members. Thanks again :)

Just to be very clear... that's your only option.

Booking three rooms under a single confirmation number is not possible. Every single room has its own confirmation number and must have a different lead guest.

Oh okay, thanks!

Others with booking experience might chime in, but keeping "room level" the same for each booking may help in keeping group together. (standard, preferred, pool view) We had 3 rooms at Pop with 1 being pool view, 2 being standard. Disney got us in the same building with the standard rooms being side by side and the other at the other end of building. The reservations were listed as traveling together but it wasn't until check-in that we were fully accommodated.

I want to book 2 rooms. One for me and one for my adult granddaughter and her husband. Can I do that in my Disney account by making two separate reservations and use my credit card and email?
Or do I need their card number and email?

You can use your credit card but you should use your granddaughter's name and email address as the lead guest on the second reservation.

This is exactly what we did when my parents came with one year. I booked our room at CSR and my mom booked their room. I called Disney and had the two reservations linked with the request of connecting rooms.

I did this last year, I booked a room for my wife, son and myself and another room for my sister and mother, adjoining. Since we were all linked already in MDE they were able to assign the room to my sister directly so she could manage the booking and payments, so it all worked out to be very convenient for us. Didn't take very long either, and the CM suggested it to me, so I don't think it's a particularly arcane request.

Disney does not book adjoining or connecting rooms, ever. They will note it on your reservation as a request and it will likely be filled, but the booking system doesn't support officially booking them that way.

I didn't say they did. I said they booked both rooms at the same time without me having to manage both. We also asked for adjoining rooms and fortunately got it, but that's not what my post was about, nor did I mention it.

Yep, I got that wrong, that was embarrassing.

You said "I booked a room for my wife, son and myself and another room for my sister and mother, adjoining."

That's a direct quote.

Someone who doesn't know any better would read that sentence and think Disney allowed you to book adjoining rooms, because that's what you said.

Ah, you know what, you're right. I didn't mean to write that, but I did. I apologize.
