Question about booking another trip while on a trip

I believe I've read posts that you can save money on a future Disney Cruise if you book your next cruise while you are actually still on the ship.

Is this true?

...is it really worth the discount or do you think you could get a better deal by shopping around after the fact?

Yes, it's true. It used to be that doing so got you a better deal; now it just gets you the early booking savings that anyone could get...BUT it also gets you a shipboard credit for your next cruise. That has become the ONLY way to get the Castaway Club (returning cruiser) shipboard credit. And you can always transfer a booking made on the ship to a travel agent and take advantage of any discounts or rebates a TA offers.
