Question about booked restaurants

I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on my family's problem... we are leaving in 51 days but we did not start planning until about 95 day out (which needless to say during the free dining promotion has left us with many of our favorite restaurants being "without availability.") So I suppose my question is do they really book the entire restaurant with no chance of day-of or walk-up availability? Maybe I can see it where CC#s are needed to hold the reservation but what about all the ones that don't need one? Any advice/info on this would be great. TIA

They do not hold any tables back for walk up. All occupancy is made available for ADRs.

Keep trying online every day. You will be surprised at what can come available if you keep checking. This is especially true at the 45 day mark as that is when final payment of packages is due. People end up canceling at this point and also, hopefully, end up canceling their dining reservations.

my advice would be to keep trying... i know they added some add'l restaurants for during FD the past few years... Chef Mickey's will be serving lunch and i believe there will be at least one add'l TS buffet set up in MK... also, try some of the more off-beat places (like the plaza at MK... surprisingly one of our best meal experiences) and slightly off times (like 4pm)...

we too are going during FD and i was able to find multiple availabilities for Akershus on a friday for b'fast... so keep looking!

I agree with the others.

But another thing you can try is when you get there, check everyday, maybe something will open up.
But make sure you have somewhere to go if not. Would hate to see you left without any adr.

There is "always" a chance of walk up, but anytime I have seen it, if it happens is a 2+ hour wait. Who wants to wait that long when you can be out enjoying a park or pool.

Thanks for the tips and info - I'm definitely going to keep trying esp at 45 days out. We have all of our ADRs set for the week; we just would make a few tweaks here and there (ie Cape May Cafe for Kouzzina's).
