Can you walk around the boardwalk area if you are not a guest at the resorts? Thanks! :thumbsup2

It is difficult to park at the resorts, there are security gates at the parking lots. Someone said there is a public lot near the Boardwalk Inn, but I don't know where it is. The easiest way is to take time out of the day you are at EPCOT, you can walk right out, and back in again, through the International Gateway entrance in World Showcase. There are beautiful resorts to look at, shops and restaurants to check out, or just people watch.

Not only can you enjoy the Boardwalk itself, but plan to stop in the bakery - YUM!!!

Easy walking or boating distance from Epcot or MGM. Walk the BCV - BWV loop, I think its only .8 miles around, lets you take a quick peek at SAB while your at it

The public parking lot is to the right as you come through the gates to the Boardwalk hotel. If you just tell the guard at the gate that you're visiting the Boardwalk area, he'll point you in the right direction. It's basically right in front of you. Very easy.

A friend of mine who lives down there would come to visit me while I was there and that's where she always was told to park.

OF COURSE everyone can go to the Boardwalk, If you're coming by car don't worry about the gates with the guard, just tell him you're going to the Boardwalk to shop and eat or even just to look at the resort!!!!

Approximately how long is the walk from MGM to the boardwalk? We planned on doing a day at MGM, then going to the boardwalk area for a little while that night. There will be 9 of us walking and one stroller. Does it involve crossing any major highways?

I think it's about a mile, and it's a nice smooth concrete path with pretty scenery and no road crossings of any kind (except where it goes UNDER a roadway bridge).

However, the path from MGM to the Epcot resorts has almost no shade anywhere along it's length, so it's HOT. If you come out of MGM in daylight, a better option is to take the Friendship launch, which is a nice air-conditioned boat, with seats, that runs from MGM to the Epcot resorts, and from the resorts to Epcot as well.

The boat dock at MGM can be found by turning left after you leave the park gates and following the concrete walk toward the water. Try it - it's a great boat ride, especially after a tiring day in the parks.

I don't know the distance, but it's 11 minutes.

I'm sure you're probably laughing at the exact time like that, but it really is.

One day, awhile back, when we just missed the Friendship boat, we asked a CM how long it would take to walk back to MGM. He said, "11 minutes". We laughed, but we timed it. Sure enough... 11 minutes. :cool1:
