Question about BLT developer points

Hello! Newbie here...gotta question:

What are the stipulations on the developer points you receive when you buy into Bay Lake Tower? I know they have to be used by Oct.3 (right?). Can they only be used at SSR? I thought I read somewhere that people are using them to take a cruise...

Can anyone help with these newbie questions?

I bought BLT in Dec and got the developer points. We were told they could only be used at SSR.
I'm not sure but I thought the cruise was a seperate option that a puchesser could opt to take!?! Anyone know more about the cruise?

The developer points and the cruise are separate incentives. You get either one.

I believe to get the cruise, you had to have a member referral. The developer points can only be used at SSR and can not be transferred to any other members.

I have heard that some people were able to switch the incentive if they had not closed yet. The cruise came out in, I believe, January.

I actually called recently to ask the same question. You can use your developer points at SSR and at participating non-Disney properties (sorry I'm not down with the lingo yet!). Doing the latter costs $95, but there are some pretty good deals depending on where you're trying to go.

Cool! Does that mean Disney Cruise Line?!?! That would mean we could take a week cruise! (oh I hope I hope I hope!)

Honestly, I wouldn't take my word for it. You may want to call and ask just to make sure before making any plans.

SSR - the only place at WDW
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel - Cal
Disneyland HOtel - Ca
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

you can also use them in RCI (the sheet says II but now it is RCI) with a $95 charge for a week.
