Question about birds at Animal Kingdom

You can't feed the birds but there is an area on the Pangani Forest Trail that has a section for the birds to fly around free. I enjoy going in there and getting one of the bird guides to identify as many birds as I can.

We were just there and experienced this - had not heard about it, were eating at the seating for Flame Tree when they flew over us. It was beautiful! And 'very' loud! :)

Oh, no, seeing that cinnamon roll makes me drool - want one 'now'!!! Love them!

There are wild birds all over the seating area at Flame Tree BBQ but please do not feed them! No matter how much your kids think it's cute. It makes them very aggressive.

Pretty sure they were talking about a controlled setting, like discovery cove has.

Anyway, go see the flights of wonder show, it's a scripted bird stage show, but it's super fun. Bring a dollar bill, and sit in the back

I wish people wouldn't feed the birds too. The ducks and other species are so obnoxious especially at Epcot and Animal Kingdom. We ignore them when they come around!

The subject of feeding wild birds reminds me of something we saw last year that I probably shouldn't think was funny, but yet really was.

We were eating a slice of pizza from the window at the Boardwalk and a family with two young kids (ages like 6 and 8) was sitting at a table near us with a whole pizza. The parents were actively encouraging the kids to feed the ducks walking around the area, which annoyed us, partly because it's irresponsible, and largely because it just caused the ducks to congregate near us. We were obviously more annoyed with the parents, who should know better, than the kids. Anyway, the kids started almost chasing the ducks around with their crust pieces, which the parents were breaking off and handing to them, when the little girl somehow got her head stuck between the bars of the fence separating the Boardwalk area from the lagoon. Now, I don't get any pleasure seeing a small child in distress, but once she was extracted none the worse for wear, we had to chuckle at how the parents and the child hopefully learned a lesson from the incident.

Parents, don't let your kids feed the birds, and don't let them stick their heads through the bars of a fence.

Thank you, I've never heard about this one! We go to Flights Of Wonder at AK, but have never seen this one before.

As noted in a couple of posts above, there are two free flight aviaries in DAK: The one at the Pangani Forest Trail and the one on the Maharajah (tiger) Trail.

I saw this last week too! Everyone walking the paths stopped, turned their faces to the sky and stood absolutely still with their mouths hanging open. You could hear everyone gasp. It was quite a sight to behold - sort of like a Blue Angels flyover by colorful red, blue and yellow parrots!
