Question about Biergarten

I am trying to finalize some of my adr's for this April and my DH has said he really likes the idea of going to Biergarten. I am a little skeptical. he loves sausages and I think that is his motivation.

How does the meal work? Is it a buffet? Are sausages a main component? Is this something my DD's (5&3) willl enjoy? My DD5 is not comfortable in dark and loud places. Is there a difference between lunch and dinner?

I have ready so little about the restaurant so I am a little in the dark.

Thanks for any info you can give me!

We have never done dinner--only lunch. I would not say it is dark. It can be loud when the entertainment is on. It is a buffet. Some of the items I remember are: sausages (various), red cabbage, sauerkraut, schnitzel, meatballs, cheeses, etc. Also, they are long tables and they will sit you with other people.

Hope this helps.

The Biergarten is very good. We've eaten there several times and go back each trip. There is a good selection of different sausages, along with other German speciaties such as sauerbraten. We love the entertainment. They always try to get the kids out on the floor and have them dance. When our son and daughter were little, around the ages of your two, they always looked forward to the Biergarten. Go ahead and try it, you'll have a great time.

Whenever our family plays the "where would you like to be at WDW right this second" game (yeah, we are dorks like that!) my DH always says "Biergarten!" I love the place, also. We have a DD9 and she has been going there since she was 6 and has always loved it. It is a little dark in there, and you sit "family style" which, at the risk of sounding unfriendly, I do not care for. Both times it was another family seated at our table, but we pretty much minded our own business and they minded theirs, and we chit chatted for a few minutes here and there.

My DD requests to go there because of the band and dance floor. She always makes friends on the dance floor and wants to stay there the whole time the band plays. The tables are set up on 3 tiers, in a semi circle around the stage/dance floor, so we can keep an eye on her wherever we are sitting.

I love the food, it is very "meat-centric" (I just made that word up, LOL) and probably amercanized versions of true German classics, but I enjoy it.

I put off going here for many years, and we finally did it for dinner 2 trips ago. It was a huge hit for my family, and we all found plenty to eat. It was a lot of fun, and my kids still talk about it. We have it booked again for our trip in June.:thumbsup2

http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_ger.htm This link should give you an idea of what's on the buffet. I like this restaurant very much.

We love Biergarten. My boys 5 and 4 really love the entertainment, and they usually are one of the first kids out on the dancefloor. The food is great, and there's a lot of choice for the kids, IMHO. My 5 yr old is a very picky eater, and we always find something for him to eat there. My 4 yr old will eat anything! popcorn::
I would recommend this restaurant.

We LOVED Biergarten! In facts, it's the only WDW buffet we're returning to!

I have a full review with lots of photos in my Dining Report if you want to take a look! :teeth:

We love Biergarten. The scenery around your table always makes me feel like I'm in the middle of a Disney ride:) It is fun and and the food is delicious!

Wow that is a great review! I am looking forward to reading the rest, but I just wanted to let you know that if I wasn't convinced by the above comments, your review sold it for us. The food looks amazing and the atmosphere looks so much different than most places. I am really lookinf forward to it now. I have made the ADR, so I wanted to thank you and all of the other responses too.

We went to the Biergarten for our first 2 trips to Disney. It was fantastic both times. We always had a table to ourselves, the food is so delicious and the entertainment is wonderful, albeit, a little loud for my taste. I highly recommend it.
