Question About Basic Ticket vs Park Hopper Ticket

I'm planning a trip for this October and I'm looking at what kind of tickets we might need. We are 2 adults, 1 child. This is our tentative schedule:

Sat: No parks, no tickets needed
Sun: MK only, no park hopping (+MNSSHP that night)
Mon: EPCOT only, no park hopping
Tue: Rest Day (will probably do dinner in EPCOT, no park hopping)
Wed: MGM + EPCOT
Thu: Water Park (+MNSSHP that night)
Fri: MK + EPCOT

So, we have 5 days where we will be in at least one park each day. Of these 5 days we will park hop for only 2.

I can buy 5 Day PHs for us for (pre-tax): $667

OR .... [and this might not work] ....

Can I buy 7 Day Basic Tickets for $573 and use 2 days of the tickets on Wednesday (one day counts @ MGM & the other day counts @ EPCOT) and use 2 days of the tickets on Friday (one day counts at @ MK & the other day counts @ EPCOT)?

Does this make sense? And, if so, can you do this??

TIA,
Debbie

No you can't use 2 days on your tickets to do 2 parks in the same day.

For what little you may hop I would change my plans and do the parks where you won't have to hop.

Thanks for the info. I didn't think it could be done. I'll probably just get the 5 Day PHs and if our plans change (like they always do!) we won't be stuck with the inability to park hop.
