Hi, I'm considering purchasing DVC at some point. I know there are yearly dues based on your point allotment. My question is if you bank or borrow points, do you pay for the yearly dues on those points in the year that you actually use the points, or just the original year where you are given the points?

Dues are paid annually and are calculated based on the number of points in your contract. Banking or borrowing points from one Use Year to another does not change the amount of dues that you owe in a particular calendar year.

Alright, I did think that was the case but wanted to make sure. Thank you.

With dues (also called maintenance fees), remember that they pay for the operation of the resort during a particular calendar year. They really don't have anything to do with points, except that they are assessed per point.

But the time period they cover is strictly calendar year -- we owe them for that time period no matter what we do (or don't do) with our points during that period.
