Question about Baby Wait Passes

My husband and I have twin 6-year-old boys and toddler. We've never needed the Baby Wait Passes before (is that what they're called?). How do they work? I understand that one parent can ride with the older children while one waits with the baby. My question is, when it's the waiting parent's turn to ride, is it possible that my twin boys will be able to ride again the second time around? Thanks in advance!

I think it's ONE person can ride again. That's what our passes said when we did baby swap (or switching off, it's sometimes called). So your twins might have to take turns. Or to prevent fights, you could just go solo?

My (almost) six year old didn't want to go on several rides like Space Mt. and Indy.

Avalon's right, the parent and one other person can go with the baby swap pass.

Thanks everyone. If only one of my boys will be allowed to ride again the second time around, do you think it's possible to use one fast pass for the other boy so they can both ride again together or do baby swap passes and fast passes not mix. :confused3

On some rides they mix. However, some of the rides use the exit que for baby swap returns (Space Mtn and Indy for example), so in that case, it wouldn't work.

If the ride has FP, they sent us through the FP line for our swap... so yes, the two would mix... but not every ride hs FP that you might want to swap on...

We didn't swap for Space... but for Indy they sent us through the FP line in Oct...

We child swapped for Indy this week (DD still has several inches to grow) it didn't accomplish all that much, same with FP's for that matter, most of the line is inside anyways ~ FP's and child swap just let you skip whatever line there is outside of the rides building ~ crowds weren't bad anyways so it was fine. Yes you can use FP's and child swap cards together, child swap cards are good for 2 riders.

How do I get a child swap pass? We will be going with a one year old and will obviously need this.

Just ask a cast member at the ride. You need to get one for each ride you want to use this on.

You can do it on all the rides except Space. I love parent/baby switch passes.

EDIT: Now saw that you were responding to some question about Baby Swap and FP together.....I thought you were saying you can't Baby Swap for Space

Huh? I never utilized Baby Swap when we took our baby to DL, but I thought for sure that I saw another family do a Baby Swap for Space Mountain--the only time I saw this done??? :confused3

I'm not sure why Space wouldn't be included, as that is the only ride that I can think of (maybe Indy) that Baby Swap would be ideal for?

Thanks for the clarification!

By the way... on Indy, a family doing a baby swap ahead of us were told that because of safety issues with the queue, they couldn't take their child through the queue with them if he was under the height restriction for the ride, even though he wasn't going to ride. They would have to do their own swap outside the ride. With us, however, our DD5 was tall enough to pass the height restriction, so she was allowed through the queue, and we swapped her out between DH and I inside. The CMs directed us where to go and gave us a baby swap pass.
This is the only ride we saw this on. On everything else, people were able to swap their kids between them inside the ride, usually right near the front of the queue.

This may sound silly, however I am wondering if I can use the child swap passes for my circumstance. I am traveling with my mom age 73 with early alzheimers, and a13 and 14 year old girls. I would like to use this with Mom since I really don't want to just leave her sitting when we might be in line a long time and mom will ride most anything except maybe screamin and ToT and Maliboomer. I am not sure about Indy because of the intensity. The girls will gladly ride again taking turns.

Do you think I might get by with this?

That's a really good question. It probably can't hurt to ask the CM.

On the other hand, she *could* go in line with you guys, then go out the exit? Though that still has her waiting around for the length of the ride; if you think that might be a problem then that won't work.

Luckily with Maliboomer it's all fairly in the open, if I recall correctly.

If you guys don't mind not all going at once, you could take advantage of the single rider line on Screamin'. Go to the CM at the entrance, ask for the SR line, they give you a slip of paper and direct you to the accessible entrance. You end up waiting on the opposite side from where the normal line waits, and it's on the side of the pier area. When I went it was FAST, and one of you could wait with your mom while the other two went in the single line (they might not get on the same ride and definitely not next to each other, of course) then switch out with the first off.

But other than those ideas (would the line for TOT be too much for your mom as well, with her taking the "chicken exit" at the end?) it can't hurt to ask.

Thanks for the ideas. Mom would love to go through the Hotel and maybe the chicken exit would would work. Mom will ride Splash, Big Thunder Mtn, Grizzly river rapids etc. Things like the carosel and teaparty aren't a problem because I dont ride those.

You know, I've read of people bringing the baby through the line to show the CM the baby, and then asked for a child swap pass. We've never done that. We've always sent one parent with our oldest child, and they got the pass. In the meantime, the other parent was riding the Pooh ride, or whatever, so our toddler could still be entertained, while some of us were riding the ride he was too big for. Then when the first parent came back, we switched, and our oldest child got to ride twice.

The only thing we are doing differently this year, is that it will now be our two oldest children that pair up, each with a parent, and help take turns entertaining our youngest. Poor oldest won't get to ride twice, but that's okay.

I'd just hate to have to hold my squirmy toddler in line, with no stroller, and have to keep him entertained and happy, while he watches everyone else get on a ride that he can't get on. That doesn't sound fun at all, and seems like it defeats the purpose of the child swap.

Regarding the early alzheimers situation (sorry, I can't seem to figure out how to quote posts right now), I would think they would absolutely let you use the swap passes if you explained your situation. The CMs seem to do their best to be accommodating and make your DL experience the best it can be.
We're going through early alzheimers with my grandmother right now, and it's heartbreaking. I wish you the best, and I'm so glad you're taking this trip with her.
