Question about Askerhus

Just curious.... Has "the Beast" from Beauty and the Beast ever made an appearance at the character meal?

Here's our situation. We have 2 girls, ages 4 and 2. Last January we made reservations for the Princess lunch. Our girls got dressed up... I checked in at the podium, and then they called our name. That's when all heck broke loose. My 4 year old started to walk into the castle with us, saw Belle... and completely freaked out!!! I'm not talking a little scared... I'm talking screaming, scratching her nails along the stone walls as we're walking in, doing anything in her power to make it stop type of a situation. I honestly can't even imagine what people around us were thinking. This should have been every 4 year old little girls dream... and she just flat out refused to go in. My DH ended up sitting outside with her for an hour while Grandma, Grandpa and I took our 2 year old inside for lunch. Anyway, the 2 year old was in her glory... and loved every second of it. Even after the fact, our 4year old would ask the 2 year old questions about it, but still said she had no interest in going. After the fact... and this is through months of little things coming out... we think she was scared "the Beast" was in the castle. Lately, she's been asking her little sister lots of questions about the Princess Lunch. She finally told me this weekend.. next time, I'm going to go in. Then she said, "but you're sure the Beast won't be there, right??"

I assume he's never there.... but I would hate to lie to the poor child! Has anyone ever heard of him being there??

I am 99.9% sure that only female characters appear at Akershus. I have been there about 5 times and they have always been the females - Belle, Snow White, alice, Cinderella, Mulan, Ariel, Aurora and Jasmine. You should be able to assure your daughter with confidence that the Beast will not be in the restaurant.

I have, however, seen him wandering around the France Pavillion. He and Belle have a meet and greet there. You will want to keep your eyes out for him.

Oh, how sad for your DD. And, of course, since Belle is the first one you see for the picture, I can only imagine what went through her mind.

We just went on 6/10 and no beast for us. And no, I had never heard of the beast showing up. The meal is touted as a "Princess Storybook __________" and I would imagine that if they deviated from princesses, they might change the name of it. You'd hope.

I hope she gets to see the princesses this time.
