Hope a mod can come along and give me this answer...

If I see other people responding to other threads of points to rent where the owner can't help them, am I able to PM them directly to offer my points?

ie. Joe Bloggs has points to rent, Mr Disney wants to rent them but Joe bloggs can't help.

Can I email/PM Mr Disney or not?

just want to know so I don't do anything wrong!

thanks

While I am not a moderator, I wouldn't recommend it. First, if that person has posted to someone else, most likely you are wasting your time PM'ing them. You can come off as too eager and discourage a prospective member from renting from you.

If you really need to rent the points, you should post with a price that will draw people to you...not try to steal a renter from someone else.

I am not trying to steal a renter from someone else.

I was quite clear in my example saying that if the orignal poster couldn't help the person who wanted to rent points.

I wouldn't just email/PM people!!!

I have never done this before, its just a question I needed a mod to clarify for me.

thanks though.

NO - PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT. In fact, in the **REQUIRED READING** thread at the top of the board we have requested that if anyone is contacted about a reservation EXCEPT the OP of a thread to which they have replied, that they notify one of the moderators.

If the moderators get any complaints that someone is soliciting renters outside of the validated threads there could be consequences. Several in the past have lost access to the Rent/Trade Board for that very reason.

I would keep your thread bumped to the top of the board by replying to it as often as you'd like to keep it noticed by as many as possible. I would also make sure it is titled to be as descriptive as possible so that potential renters can easily tell what you are offering.

perfect - thats what I thought but was just checcking with the Mods!!!

you can close this now if you like!

thanks again!
