So I'm not sure I'm going to like the answer to this but I need to know. I applied last week and interviewed and all that and now I'm waiting. Last week I was hospitalized for a week for some medical stuff. Because of that I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to go back to school this semester (I was enrolled full time at Rutgers) how does that effect my application and acceptance/denial?

My guess would be that if you are not currently enrolled in school, regardless of the fact that you were recently hospitalized. I hope you are better now and I'm sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear. This is just a guess so I may be wrong, but I do know that they want you to be currently enrolled, unless you are alumni. I actually went to RU and was hospitalized my last semester, shortly before doing the CP, but I never left school. It did however, make me question if I could do the CP. I did and I loved it, but I did have a lot of medical issues, especially in the beginning so it wasn't ideal. I really hope everything works out well for you!

Keep in mind that you do not have to be FT. If you have any medical concerns, you should drop some of your classes to lighten your load. As long as you stay enrolled in one course (regardless of credits), then you'd be eligible.

What do you mean regardless of credits? Can you take an uncredited course and be eligible?

i would really try and see. what's the worse that can happen? but I beleive that you are fine to apply. my cousin was in a similar position and still got accepted. since you are past all the interviewings and stuff, i believe that your clear for the go. Good luck!

Hope you feel better

thanks so much everyone! it's not really in my best interests to go back to school this semester (getting better is going to take a little longer than the week I spent in the hospital lol) but getting back to Disney is too important to jeopardize. I'm going to give the office a call tomorrow and see what they say, maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be okay =)

Definitely communicate. They prefer to hear form you-- it helps them figure out your situation!

The idea of dropping down to part-time status and even just taking one class to be able to go do the CP is a good idea.

Health comes first, though. Believe me. I had to medically withdraw from a semester of school and was in the hospital five weeks. If you want to talk about that, PM me. I don't mind talking it out with you.

Question, if your having to take off a whole semister of school are you sure your healty enough to go to Disney? The two positions I had while I was there were Merchandise and Attractions and I am pretty certian that if I had a condition where I couldnt go to school for awhile then I wasnt healthy enough to work these jobs. I dont want you to take this post as offensive or anything. Some roles can be demanding in both the physical and mental aspect. Just make sure before you go that you can handle it.

I've done the college program before so I definitely know what's expected of me, I did merchandise as well, and I know that why I have to take off from school wouldn't interfere with that in anyway. I don't take that offensively at all. I completely understand the thought behind it after being down there for a year. School is what led to the medical issue, which is why I'm trying not to go back if I don't have to. What's going on isn't something that would be exacerbated by Disney at all.

Hey guys, not sure if anyone is wondering but I'm so excited I need to share! I called the program today to get a final answer and I am one lucky person. The lady I talked to told me that the program states you have to be enrolled at the time you apply. She said since I'd already applied and interviewed that if I needed to take the rest of my semester off I'd be fine. There are no words for how relieved I am. :rotfl::woohoo:

Awesome! I think something like that happened with my friend a few semester back, she applied enrolled and then left school :D
