Question about appeals

I just got off the phone and looking for suggestions.

Background: We made DL hotel reservations using points for April of 2020. The lockdown happened and Disney removed the reservation and placed the points on hold. I tried to use the points when DL opened in May of 2021, but DL hotels were not open. Called member services and hold times were more than 60 mins and once it was 120 minutes to check on the points.

Today: I managed to connect and talk to member services to figure out which are bankable points and what points need to be used before expiration. I found out that the points used for the hotel reservation in 2020 expired in May 2021. The cast member tried to see if the points could be recovered, but she was not successful.

Question: Has anyone tried to appeal the issue, and how did you appeal?

I am sorry that you lost points but there has never been any reports of owners getting points restored once they expired.

Unfortunately, I think you would have had to discuss this with MS last spring before they were gone. But, to be honest, they stopped extensions, except for international owners, last year, so I dont think there is anything they would have been able to do.

And, if they were for DL hotel, they were reservation points which means they could not be used for DVC anymore anyway.
 
Thanks. I was trying to make reservations for DL hotel since it is open. I tried to call earlier in the year but was not able to connect due to wait times. This is the first timesince 98 that I lost track of time. Oh well chalk it up to the craziness out there.
 
I would push it further. It’s pretty objectively unreasonable that they had multi-hour wait times to talk to somebody for over a year.

Except they have not regularly had those wait times every minute of every day.

Even so an email to have someone call back is always an option to say you need someone to discuss it.

Not to be harsh to the OP, but we are more than 3 months beyond when they expired

Owners do have a responsibility to understand their own points and love sure to seek clarification sooner rather than later.
