Question about APH rate and Loews First

So, I booked a single night (Sat. to Sun.) at the Portofino Bay at the APH rate for HHN. I'm planning on staying until the park closes so I would like to sleep in the next morning. The problem is that we have to check out the next day so we have to wake up early in order for all of us to shower and stuff.

I was wondering if I would be able to use my Loews YouFirst benefits and get the late checkout time. I read the rules but I didn't understand them exactly. I know the AP rate doesn't qualify but I don't get if I can't use my Loews benefits or if it just means that my stay doesn't count towards my total stays at Loews Hotels. I figure if it doesn't count as a qualifying stay then I probably can't use my benefits.

I was just hoping that since all of us going are Premier Annual Pass holders and we have stayed multiple times on site and I am a YouFirst member and we have AAA and my mother is old maybe they would be nice and let us sleep in anyway? LOL :rotfl2: Do you think it is possible or am I just fantasizing? I mean, paying around $70 extra bucks for the seasonal rate to just get 3 extra hours of sleep does hurt. Although, sleep is nice.... but those $70 dollars could pay for gas and tolls for one way of the trip.

So, what do you guys think? Any suggestions or comments would be great.

I think they will allow you to have the late check out IF it is available. If they have someone else checking into that room that day they can't let you check out late. I think you have to ask upon check in. Have a fun trip!!

I would not count on late check out. Your AP rate disqualifies you from that. Also, October is a very busy time of year, and that also doesn't help your chances.

Do you think I would have a better chance if I just paid the seasonal rate and use my Loews benefit or should I just not risk it since I probably wouldn't get it anyway?

it wouldn't matter. keep the discount rate you have.
if you are a loews platinum, you would not have any issues with a late check out. other than that, it's a hit or miss. all depends on the front desk TM.

call the morning of check out and ask for an extension on check out time.
you could possibly get an additional hour for your check out.

to get the later time, it depends on how many rooms have to be completely cleaned for new incoming guests.

those rooms are usually done up before the other rooms.

each housekeeper is assigned so many rooms in an area to be responsible for in cleaning.

the front desk can see how many new guests are coming in that day and can give you an extension on your check out time based on the situation.

if you have 25 guests in one section that all want late check out, chances are you might not be the fortunate one to get your wish.

most people will ask when they check in if they can have late check out the next day.
the TM will state, "please call the front desk in the morning to secure that"

then you say, i don't want to have to set the alarm clock early to get up and call then. that is the reason i booked for the over night so i can sleep in.

they might tell you okay then.
or, they might not.

do inquire when you check in and ask them to note it on your files.
that way if 25 other people call up the next morning for the same thing, your request will have already been documented. maybe that will help you with the edge. i don't know for sure but it sounds reasonable.

it is too difficult to speculate what the occupancy level will be at that hotel at this point. if they are very full if not totally full, it will be difficult.

i have loews platinum and do get the 2:00 late check out.
i have not had an issue of being denied it.
.........yet..........:rolleyes1

the hotels do try to work with the guests and help out with one additional hour for late check out on some dates.
maybe you will get lucky and get it.

don't change your rate thinking it well help.
only platinum loews has that advantage, so the seasonal rate has no effect on late check out. i do think that the american express holders has this advantage also.

i stay at hrh.
when i see the signs in the lobby and on my tv screen about the contest promotion, i know the hotel is full with guests.

the last 2 years in october around the columbus day time period, HRH had signs up stating: Enter our contest for a free night stay at the hotel.
winners chosen weekly. for each hour checking out early, up to 10:00, you can have an entry to win the free night.

it is stated something like that above.
it also includes that if you check out at 7, you get 3 entries, at 8, 2 entries and so on up to 10 am check out time.

i might have the number of entries wrong but the gest of it is to encourage guests to check out of their rooms very early and the incentive of winning a free night at the hotel for that inconvenience.
HRH has less rooms than the other 2 hotels.
i'm sure this contest is not at all of them. i have not read of any returning homie talking about the contest except for HRH.

i don't do the contest..............

i stay and check out at 2:00 on the dot then store my luggage with the valet and go to the the parks then.
my flights have been night flights in the past.

don't change your rate to a higher one.
you would kick yourself if you did and were denied a late check out time.
