Question about AP

I was just reading over the great benefits of an AP. I think with all the discounts listed I could make it pay for it's self even just for one visit.
Question 1 When do your 365 days start? the first time you use it?
Question 2 If room codes come out for AP holders can I use the discount for my parents room that I booked too? Even if it's in their name? I heard you could make up to 3 ressies w/AP and use the discount
Any info is appreciated!!

The AP starts when you purchase it at the parks or if you purchased it in advance, when you "activate" it at the parks. Advance purchases get you a voucher that is exchanged for the AP during the activiation process. But double check the AP to be sure the date is correct.

<small>For a new AP you actually get 366 days (367 for some start dates across leap years). Renewals get 365 (or 366) days.</small>

The rooms must be in an AP holder's name. I thought it was two concurrent stays as opposed to three for one AP holder.

AP's do pay for themsevles possibly in one visit. We get them, and especially with the Florida resident discount we pay for them on our one big vacation during the year, and then go up on various weekends through the year. It's a great deal.

Also look at this: Parking is $7.00 per day, but free with an AP. I bet we saved over $100.00 with our AP's in one year on just parking alone.

We just got APs for the first time this Jan.

AP's start when they are first activiated.

As for rooms, I believe you can book up to 3 at the AP rate.

We just got back in Jan. and I was able to book 2 rooms at the AP rate, one for my family, on for my parents (even though I didn't even have the AP voucher yet. Even at check-in, we only had to show the voucher.) My parents were even able to stay for 3 nights longer at the AP rate than my family did.
