Question about Airtran seat assignments

DH and I will be taking a quick trip to WDW next week and have booked a great rate through Airtran. The last time we flew with them was a few years back and we selected our seats ahead of time. Now I notice that the seats are assigned when you get to the airport. Has anyone had any experience with this? Do you usually get to sit together or are many of the seats taken by customers who paid the extra money to get a seat when purchasing? Can we select the seats when we check in online 24 hours ahead or do we still need to check in again at the airport? We are flying out of Philly. Thanks in advance

You can select your seats and check-in online 24 hours out. I've never had a problem getting seats together when I do that. Even with a group of 5. When the screen comes up it will show seats assigned to you. You can keep them and continue on or you can change them if you see something available that you'd prefer.
