Question about airmiles

I was hoping to use the airmiles I have been accumulating for our trip to Connecticut and Orlando next year,but on the airmiles website it will only allow you to book a return journey in and out of the same airport.
I was hoping to fly into JFK and out of MCO but am not sure that I can if I want to use my miles.
I am not keen on flying as it is,but it looks like we will need to fly into JFK(stopping off for a week with DHs' family)fly onto Orlando and then do the same in reverse for the return journey
Is there any way round this other than not using the airmiles and paying cash for the flights?Have considered driving or train to Orlando- any thoughts?

I don't know what airmiles site you are using, but certainly British Airways don't allow "open jaw" (i.e. into one airport, out of another) online, but you have no problem booking an "open jaw" on the phone with them... So I assume that airmile bookings with other airlines (or through airmiles.co.uk) may be the same...

I didn't know there was more than one airmiles company
I'm collecting Tesco Clubcard vouchers to exchange for airmiles if that makes sense.
Have tried ringing but was on hold for ages so gave up.
Looks like I'll have to use the airmiles for something else,or get on a plane four times to complete my journey

There are many different types of airmiles - I assume that you are exchanging them for "Airmiles" with www.airmiles.co.uk . However virtually all airlines have their own way to collect airmiles specific to their airline and/or within their airline partnership (for instance people can collect British Airways Airmiles on some American Airlines flights). People can also exchange Tesco Clubcard Vouchers to get BA airmiles (although you need to belong to the BA Executive Club to do anything with the airmiles). BA airmiles can be used to book "open jaw" flight reservations. Airmiles.co.uk looks like a more restrictive scheme to me, but it is horses for courses.

If I was you, I would probably save the airmiles until you have a direct journey you want to do - would be less hassle. But I would guess that you would still save quite a lof of money using them.

I too am a collector of airmiles via tesco, I have used them many times and always found that if you phone them up you can get much more services than offered online, the amount of miles you can use are not restricted to what it says on your online quote, they also offer alterate hotels, car hire companies etc none of which are listed online, if i were you it's worth giving them a call you have nothing to lose.
