Question about ADRs....

We are planning to go to WDW in September. We haven’t booked our trip yet (waiting to see if free dining will be announced ) , but will be going regardless. Can I go ahead and make Advance Dining Reservations now?

I am not sure. When we have called to book ADR they asked where we were staying. I think I remember telling them my Reservation #.
Call and ask.

You cannot book dining reservations until 180 days out from your trip. Therefore, I am thinking that you have to have the trip dates booked before making ADR's. Everytime I have called to make ADR's they ask for my confirmation number or telephone number that I used to book with.

nope....it just has to be 180 from when the meal .reservation is...you don't have to be booking a trip to eat at disney. if that were the case, then people staying offsite couldn't make adr's.

you can make all of your adr's and book your trip later. I have done that before when we were waiting for our DVC to come through.

You can make adrs without having a disney resort ressie. (what if you were staying off site??) You can call at the 180 day mark & each day after you need to call for each day of your trip. If you had a ressie with Disney already you could call at 180 days (1 phone call) & make up to 10 days adrs. Thats the only difference.

Thanks for correcting me..I knew someone would if I had it wrong. I didn't think about the people staying offsite. Duh!

Anyone can make a Disney dining reservation 180 days out. The limitation is there because only those dates will be in the reservation system. It doesn't matter where you are staying, if you are staying, or if you aren't sure. If you don't have a reservation number, they use your phone number. We stay offsite all the time and I always make dining reservations. No problem at all.
