I'm a complete newbie to everything Disney. Neither myself or my DH have ever gone. Both my girls want a princess character meal and the Akerhaus seems to be the best bet. My plan is to do an early reservation for breakfast so that we can then start into the park when we are finished. If the park is not open yet how do we get to the restaurant? Will they let us in at the front gate? We are staying offsite too since that may make a difference. any help would be awesome!

BTW I really love this site!!!

There will be early morning buses at the non-Epcot area resorts (because Swan/Dolphin/Yacht Club/Beach Club/Boardwalk access via the International Gateway).

Try to catch the bus an hour before your reservation time, and you'll go through bag check and allowed into the park. There should be a sign at the turnstiles designated as the "breakfast entrance". Your name should be on a list with other guests who have a reservation at Akershus that morning.

You won't have a problem if you plan to get there early and give yourself time to walk there. Cast members will be around to direct you.

I'm sorry. I meant we will be staying at a townhouse completely offsite of WDW property so we will be driving in and parking in the Epcot parking lot. Will we still go to the turnstiles and look for the breakfast line?

That sounds so easy! Thanks for your quick response. :)

We had an 8am ressie. We arrived at EP around 7:35am.......

We were literally the second car in the parking lot! It was great at the end of the day when we were ready to leave...didn't have far to walk to the car. Give yourself plenty of time to walk to the restaurant...it's a quite a walk. It was really neat to see EP without the huge masses of people, too. My family also loved Akershus...great princess interaction.

How long does it take to walk from the bus drop off area to the restaurant? We have a 9:05 reservation and I am worried about park entry crowds as well.

Yes, you will see the signs. Well marked. Have fun!

Don't worry about your early morning ADR and crowds. When you arrive to the park turnstiles, make sure you have your conf # handy because there will be a turnstile designated to the breakfast only and a CM there making sure you have ADRs there. Once they let you in just walk back to Norway, there will be roped off areas and CMs all around to direct you to where you need to go. If you are walking at a fast pace, you could be at the Norway pavilion in about 10 minutes, if you have little kids with little legs, then it will take a bit longer. Have a great time, Akershus is one of our favorite character meals :goodvibes

:cool1: That looks great!!! I can't wait! To be that close with a 5 year old who has short legs will be nice. Thanks everyone. It is great to hear all the positive comments about Akerhaus.

We love Akershus. Allow plenty of time, it is a very long walk but it is nice to see EPCOT so empty. There are great photo ops all along the way.

I guess the same is true at the International Gateway? We have ADRs an hour before opening and are staying at BCV. Should be an interesting walk through the park without the crowds.
