Question about ADR Etiquette

You can't just walk around the park for half an hour. They are going to hold you there until the RD crowd catches up to CP, then they will let you go. If you are really that concearned, maybe you should give up the ADR and just eat something at your resort before heading to RD.

I second this ... I wouldn't book an early ADR and assume I could make rope drop at any park. I have seen delays for all sorts of reasons and I wouldn't want to count on the restaurant being prompt for my plans.

You could go for rope drop and then get a late morning reservation at Crystal Palace and have the best of both worlds!

I would agree. If rope drop is your priority do that first and then eat at CP. I think it would be too stressful--not to mention expensive--to try to eat your breakfast at CP and be done before rope drop. The beauty of an ADR at CP before the park opens is to enjoy a walk through Main Street and photos without the crowds. While it can be done, it would be too much pressure for me as I like to spend as much time as I like at when dining at CP.
