Question about adding on a day to go to Animal Kingdom

Hello my fellow Disney loving friends. In just a few days we are leaving for Florida. To keep "my" Disney vacations exciting for my family I have switched things up every year we have gone. Stay onsite, stay offsite. Spend some time at Universal, go to parties, include a beach day (which they love, I do not).

This year we are driving (a first in years), spending and staying at Clearwater Thur-Mon then going over to Disney Mon-Sat, doing 2 park days with watermarks, no hopper, quick dining plan. Staying at Pop (a first). Water parks will also be a first. Going to Magic Kingdom (my favorite) and Hollywood Studios (my husband and sons favorite). Have a few days at the end of vacation to play with since we don't have to be back by Tuesday. The idea was to drive to Chattanooga and stay a day there (another first), if we weren't ready to just get home. However....

Now there is Pandora Land. I hear such great things about it. We could add a day to the tickets, and get a hotel for another night in Orlando (although probably not POP to keep prices down). That may affect Chattanooga. Budget is not unlimited, but has leeway.

So, what should I do? My family is not about waiting in lines for hours, but we can get up early or stay late, that is not a problem. I'm guessing I won't get a fast pass this late.

Thanks for listening and throwing out any considerations I may not have thought of..,,

Have you all been to the rest of Animal Kingdom before? Just reading that, I probably wouldn't think it's worth it, honestly. Even if you arrive to Animal Kingdom for rope drop, the Flight of Passage line has still been building very quickly.

I went to AK this week and we skipped Pandora. It was packed there but the rest of the park was empty. We walked on to everything.

We are going back to AK in the fall and will get Pandora FPs then.

Enjoy your trip!

We have, a few times, and am thinking the same. I hate to miss it, but we haven't seen Avatar so not huge fans, and we are not big fans of crowds. Did I mention going in the summer is also a first? Thanks for your suggestion!

If you are staying onsite at Disney, they are having evening extra magic hours only for resort guests at AK every night from 11pm-1am. That might be your best opportunity to get on the Avatar rides with shorter lines.

We just got home from a week there, including Memorial Day. I can't recommend rope dropping FOP and Navi enough!!! FOP passage is incredible and Navi is beautiful! We were in AK three times, and while the mid day lines were awful in Pandora, the early morning was amazing. We were able to ride both rides without fastpasses and didn't wait over ten minutes for either.(we did them each on different days) Just get there early...it's a wondeful land. Also, you'll finish fast enough to enjoy the walk ons at Everest and Dinosaur if you head over to them right after you ride in Pandora.
