I read that you could add a dining plan (paid for, not free dining) if you were staying at a DVC resort using a DVC member's points. My question is this: do you have to add the dining plan as part of your hopper tickets? Or, if you have already purchased hoppers, are you allowed to add the dining plan a la carte?

My SIL is using my MIL & FIL's points to stay at OKW, and she wants to know whether she can buy the hoppers in advance, or whether she has to buy them as part of the DDP package.

Thank you for any help!

No need to buy a package. You can have any kind of tickets you want when staying DVC, bought at any time you want.

Only condition is that you must add the dining plan before you arrive.

MIL and FIL will need to call MS at least 5 days ahead of time to let them know about their desire to have the DDP. They will pay for it when they check in.

I have seen nothing to indicate it must be 5 days ahead of checkin.

Everything from DVC that I've read just states that you must call MS prior to arrival.

Since MS has more limited hours than DRC and is closed on Sundays and some holidays, it is prudent to keep that in mind.

For a recent stay that began on a Monday, after a pause I was told to call at least two days ahead if we decided to add DDP. That makes sense with MS closed on Sunday.
