I everyone. We are headed to WDW in May of 2016. My overly generous inlaws are using their DVC points to pay for a 2 bedroom, savannah view suite at AKV. As a "Thank-You" we are considering adding and paying for the DDP for our group. We will be 4 adults and 2 kids (disclaimer...we never get the DDP and find that TIW is a better use of our money but we will be doing almost all buffet/character meals so it makes sense this time). My questions are...do you pay for the dining plan when you add it or when you check in? Can you use Disney gift cards to pay for the DDP? I ask because it would be easiest for me to save a little at a time by purchasing gift cards. That way I know the money is securely allocated and I can't "borrow" from it for other reasons. Thanks in advance for any/all advice!!
