Question about adding an additional person to ressie

I have a 2BR reserved at VWL in October. At this time there are five people listed on the reservation. My mother-in-law has said that she will probably join us on the trip (she will be the sixth person). Is it necessary to have her added to the reservation? Will she have to be listed on the reservation in order to use resort facilities? If so, can I do it myself or do I have to go through the person that I am renting points from?

You should ask the owner to add her to the reservation - it will make the check in process go faster if everyone staying in the room is on the reservation ahead of time.

Each individual gets a key with his/her own name on it. Also, on site guest perks (like EMH for example) are tied to the room key.

It's not a big deal to add her name to the reservation (it doesn't cost more points), so don't worry about asking the owner to do that for you.

If MIL isn't on the reservation, she won't get a room key (unless you add her at check in and then be prepared for a longer check in process). If she doesn't have a key, she could very well have trouble using some of the resort amenities.

If she's not on the ressie, no Magical express nor Dining plan available. If she's absolutely going, I'd add her.
