Question about add-ons

We're getting ready to take the plunge and buy DVC...haven't decided on resale or through Disney but nonetheless, it will be DVC. I understand that where you buy is where you get the 11 month window at, and the other DVC resorts would be available at the 7 month window. My question is, let's say you own 160 pts at AKV and then you buy an add-on resale of say 25 or 50 pts at BWV, does that mean you get the 11 month window at AKV and then also at BWV? Or is the 11 month window only at the resort that you own the most points at? Just trying to understand the window options and appreciate any info anyone can offer!

To book a resort 11 months out you need enough points from that resort to pay for the reservation. If you own 160 points at AKV and 50 points at BWV then you have 160 points to use at AKV in the 11-month window and 50 points to use at BWV in the 11-month window. You can increase that number by banking and/or borrowing points. For example, you could bank your BWV points every other year and have 100 BWV points available for use in the 11-month window every other year.
