Question about add ons and 7/11 month window

Just a quick question....I have 200 SSR but would like to add some HH points (maybe 50).

If I wanted to stay a week at HH that will take 200 points would I still be able to book out 11 months in advance since my points at HH would not be sufficient to cover the whole week. Or would I have to wait and book 7 months out since I would be using my SSR points in addition?
 
In this situation I believe that you can book you 50 HH points at the 11 month window but can't use your SSR points until the 7 months window.

Brownie is correct. When booking 11 months prior to check-out, you must have a sufficient number of home resort points to cover the reservation. If you bought a 50-point add-on at HHI, you could bank and borrow your points giving you 150 HHI points every 3 years. You would still be 50 points short however so you could only book part of your reservation at 11 months and then add additional days (if available) at 7 months using SSR points.
 
I agree with the above info. However, owning 200 SSR points and 50 HH points creates unique decisions, esp since summer is very difficult to get at 7 months out. For summer, you'd be better off booking the weeknights using the HH points including banking and borrowing. Then make a cash reservation for backup for the other nights. Then at 7 months out try to use the SSR points for any days you can.
