Question about AAA rate and packages

I was wondering if anyone has been able to book a AAA rate with a package of dining and park tickets with Disney instead of through AAA? I hate dealing with AAA but they always say you can book "room-only" rate directly with Disney but there is not mention of packages. I remember you couldn't get a AAA with the free-dining but is it available if you are paying for the dining plan?

You can only book the AAA room rate if you call Disney. If you want the discount on a package, with or with out dining, you have to call a AAA travel agent. I used a AAA agent for our trip in Spetember 2007. It all went great. We booked in Jan 07 with the hope of free dining. As soon as the rumor of it being released started I called her and she said thats what she heard also. Then when it did come out she changed our booking to free dining and added 2 days (per my request). My documents came by DHL. It was an AWESOME trip!

I'm heading to my local AAA office in a couple hours to book out August 10th trip.... Was hoping for the 40%... didn't happen. Hoped for free dining, hasn't happened. Free ticket upgrade, not yet either.... Woe is me....

My dates are 8/10 to 8/19... Hopefully something better will come along!

I've used AAA three times to book a package...so far, so good. Saving close to $400 is fine by me.
