Question about a studio rental..?

Thanks everyone! I took a look at the link posted and read the suggestions. DH's chair is a Quickie GT not a powerchair so I think we can move it around enough to make do.

It was completely my error in selecting the studio. I hate to bother the DVC member that I rented points from. To move up to a 1 bedroom (with availability probably highly unlikely for 10/14-10/20) would cost $780. I can't really justify that as long as we can make it work.

I am going with the attitude that we will have a great time and just be really "close" for this trip.

nor did she said 2 rooms. prior thread she was trying to make an
one bedroom work vs a 2 bedroom. ( from what she was posting,
they were cost cutting ) .

now she isn't an owner, and david's rentals must have blt owners
with enough points to rent out 2 studios. we have 3 contacts but
we didn't buy them to rent. also there been several posts that
renters couldn't get blt , just one room so i would think getting
2 would be harder.


i seen the damages done to some of these units. i spent time talking
to the workers. regardless, i hope you are correct but i think
seeking out the kitchen is a red flag.

since our dues are effected by the abuses, i called member
services to report my concerns. to me, this is why we won't be
renting our points to strangers. ever. i also pointed out how
this can be taken advantage of- & the every 4 days for "linen
changes", make it easier for them to do this. based on her
previous thread, it is evident what is going on.

what would take less points--2 rooms or one?

We usually stay in a 2 bedroom and the second bedroom is actually a studio. If you could leave the sleeper closed and have your DD sleep on the closed sofa you shouldn't have to worry about her hitting the chair if she were to fall off. There is a nightstand between the two so with the sleep folded there would be room to put the chair right up against the nightstand and she shouldn't have any trouble. Otherwise, as others have suggested take a twin air mattress and put it close to the sliders and you would have more than enough room.

yes , a 2-bedroom would work. but on the other thread that
wasn't her request. even when another poster asked, she never
responded about the 2 bedroom.

..another major concern that i think dvc need to be advised,is the op intending to placed their whole family in a blt studio, all 7 of them. the chances of them damaging the unit is very high.

I'd like to believe that nobody would try to cram 7 or 8 people into a BLT studio, but I'm constantly amazed by what some people think is ok if they can justify it as trying to save money. In this case, if that's what they are trying to do, it's not just a minor bending of a rule, it's clearly not allowed.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt most of the time, but I'd agree with you, if someone is trying to put that many people into a studio, it's not a situation where you should just mind your own business, especially with you being a DVC owner.
