Question about a rumor

In my TR I happened to mention that I am lactose intolerant. Found out a few weeks ago and apparently it's pretty deathly. I take lactose pills, to bring down the risk but it still makes me sick. I didn't know it for a while because I rarely ever drink milk. Ever. So I was saying something about they won't see as many pictures of desserts that have milk in them because I can't eat them without being extremely miserable. Someone else said that Disney supposedly has like special chocolates for people who are lactose intolerant. I've been to Disney 27 times and I've never heard of this, but I wasn't aware I was lactose intolerant. So, my point is, is this true of just a rumor?

Disney is amazing for people who need dairy free diets. I am allergic to lactose & WDW is the one place I can pretty much relax when dining! Glad to hear about the cookies at the Bakery!

I know I have seen dining reviews from Vegan DISers who got Tofutti (ice cream type dessert made from tofu) at several restaurants. If you look through the dining reviews board for the Vegan threads they also mention many other meals that have hidden milk product and what the chef substituted for them.

How did u find out you were lactose intolerant for sure? Were you at the dr's and just mentioned it? Just curious.

I don't eat/drink dairy very much but when I do I get sharp stomach pains. I just always thought it was because I ate too much icecream or something.

There is a test your doctor can do to test for lactose intolerance. talk to your doctor about it.

There is a test your doctor can do to test for lactose intolerance. talk to your doctor about it.

Maybe I can help!! I am Lactose Intolerant and it was horrible. I used to take a Lactaid with everything I ate and my first trip to Disney I told everyone and the chef's made special desserts etc. They were great but it was still depressing when everyone else was having a Micky Bar and I was afraid to.
