There's been a discussion going on recently about customs and the experience flying back to the US with a short layover. It made me think I should ask about my question. My short layover is going *to* Europe (heading to London Heathrow via Dulles). Has anyone gone *to* Europe through Dulles? I've only gone through Dulles coming back home, and it was a nightmare. But I'm assuming I won't have to go through anything like customs, since I'll do that in Columbus.
But when I flew to Barcelona through JFK, I had to actually leave the terminal I arrived in, and go through security again to get into the international terminal. Anything like this at Dulles? I normally wouldn't book less than 3 hours, but it was either an hour & 40 minutes or 13+ hours! There just weren't any flights with decent layovers. I booked this through ABD, and she didn't seem to think it would be a problem. But I must admit, it makes me nervous.
Thanks for any input!
