Ok, I'm sure some variation of this question has been asked innumberable times so I apologize in advance. I just got reservations for 'Ohana at 9:55pm for Thurs. July 1st. I was wondering how it works to see the fireworks which start at 10. We obviously don't have very high expectations since we just booked this reservation today on a whim but I was wondering if we would be able to walk outside for a minute to watch them? Or is it rude to show up and then 'walk out'? I am asking this because I know there is no guarantee that you can see the fireworks from every seat in the restaurant. Just looking for a little bit of adivce/experience. Thanks! :goodvibes

If they call you for your table and you don't respond I don't know what the consequences will be. You have the latest possible ADR time, so I don't know about waiting past 10. What I would do is show up early and let them know you're there and you will be going outside to watch the fireworks if you are not seated before 10.

Even if you could see the fireworks from every seat at 'Ohana - there's probably a 99% chance that with a 9:55 reservation you wouldn't be seeing 10 PM fireworks. Anyone who's in the restaurant at that time will most likely be staying to see them themselves, resulting in a wait for your table.

They do give you a beeper when you check in, but I have no idea if it would work as far away as the beach where you can see the fireworks.

So unless you happen to luck out and a lot of people leave at 9:45 to see fireworks from the beach, I don't think you can easily time out the two things -- unless the beeper works that far away. And it might.

Thanks for the quick responses! I didn't really have high hopes of seeing the fireworks. We were planning on heading over to the Polynesian (we're staying at AKL and have never stayed at the Poly before) seeing the Electrical Water Pageant, and checking out the resort, then having dinner. I had just been wondering if the fireworks might be a nice extra-lucky perk for such a last-minute reservation!

What I meant is if, miracle of miracles, we actually got in at 9:55 would it be ok if we walked outside for a minute after we were seated.

not sure if you know that you'd have to go downstairs and then walk out a bit past the plants, so that'd take time plus the fireworks last awhile. You may be able to see them from the waiting area by the big window, if you're still waiting at that time. I would ask for a window seat in the center of the restaurants, but even with that there is a lot of plants that get in the way of the view. good luck.

well, never mind, we changed our minds and now have reservations at Citricos! thanks for the advice though!
