question about a 7 year old

my friend is planning a vaction for herself, hubby and 7 year old boy. she was asking me today if i think universal or animal kingdom would be better, i told her i am not sure and would look into it..

what do you guys think ? my hubby said problery animal kingdom ?

I have an 8 yr old. So lets see. Like super heros? Like fast moving rides? Like things like sharks dinosaurs and dragons? My guess on all of those would be yes. If that is the case, then AK doesnt have much for him. Depends really on the kid. There is Dinosaur at AK, and primeval whirl, and Khali River Rapids. He may not be ready for Everest. There are really tons of threads comparing the two on this board, check some of those. But again, it really depends on the kid, but dont be afraid to try out UO. It has plenty of stuff for the kids, I have two and my son who again is 8 loves Universal much more than he likes Disney, especially AK.

It really depends on the 7 yo. How tall is he?? Is he into coasters or nature. That is the big question.

oh i guess i should have mentioned, that he is huge into animals.. all he wants to read is book on snakes, dinsours, stuff like that... we have six flags here and he doesnt really care to go when we go.. and he doesnt like the "characters" at six flags either ex: bugs bunny.. so she isnt to sure about that at disney either

when my boys were 5/7/8.......they lived and breathed spiderman, wolverine, storm, rogue, captain america, hulk.........especially thru comic books.

they were wowed at ioa/usa when they saw them
for my one kid that was short by 1", we stuffed napkins in his shoes to make him taller. i know, bad thing to do so don't do what i did.

i took 3 boys to florida by myself and went nuts getting lost in a rental car some days. and of course being from the north, we weren't used to hot weather in mid june in orlando.........my kids had so many fights that week, i don't know how i got passed it........whew....

it was all worth it when we went to universal...

you say he likes dinosaurs? they have them there at ioa.
animals, well seuss land has animals in different forms......

try uo, he might enjoy it.
to us, we have done ak 5 times and at this point only want to go for safari ride and the new mt everest ride. the rest we can do a zoo trip if we want to see animals.

DD is 7 and loves both Super Heroes and animals..........

If I asked her choose between the two I'm pretty certain she'd say Universal - saying that I think the water features are the biggest draw for her as she LOVES to get soaking wet..........

We like AK but, to be honest, find it more hard work to walk around, for some reason, than any of the other WDW parks or Universal
